CUET Exam (Common Universities Entrance Test) Eligibility and Exam pattern

CUET Exam stands for Common Universities Entrance Exam (CUET) that has been confirmed by the University Grand Commission (UGC). CUET is an entrance exam for the UG courses in central universities. CUET score determines the candidates who are eligible to grant scholarships for Undergraduate & Postgraduate courses.

CUET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be aware that CUET qualifying requirements may change depending on the institutes and CUET programs. Candidates will be denied even in the later rounds of admission if they do not stand with the CUET eligibility requirements.

CUET Eligibility: Education Qualification

The academic criteria for undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs, and Ph.D. programs vary, and each program’s requirements are mentioned below.

Courses Academic Qualification
Undergraduate  For general category candidates, the student must have received a

minimum of 50% on their grade in 12th grade, and for SC/ST students, a minimum of 45%.

Post Graduate The student must have received a minimum grade point average of 55% (General category) and 50% (SC/ST/OBC/PWD category).

There are various areas where the cutoff is different for

OBC candidate students.

Ph.D. Program The candidate must hold a post-graduate degree in the relevant field

with a minimum of 45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates,

50% for OBC candidates, and 55% for general candidates.

CUET Exam Pattern

Recently the new CUET exam pattern for UG was revised by the commission. The undergraduate exam consists of three sections language, domain knowledge, and general aptitude. Candidates need to select their language and domain knowledge. The general aptitude is common for all.
