Combined Defence Services Exam

Combined Defence Services (CDS) is a national-level competitive exam that is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit candidates who want to start their career in the defence forces like Army, Navy, and Air Force.

CDS Eligibility

The candidates must be well acquainted with the knowledge about the eligibility criteria. Candidates must fulfil the CDS eligibility at the following levels:

Physical Standards: Candidates, who have applied for different posts in the CDS must be mentally and physically fit to meet the physical standard guidelines, as mentioned in the official CDS notification.

Nationality: Aspirants should be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who had migrated to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention of Permanent Settle.

CDS Age Limit

The CDS age limit for all the posts is 20 years to 24 years referring to the candidates must be born not earlier than 2nd July 1999 and not later than 1st July 2004.

CDS Syllabus

Candidates must be aware of the subjects of the CDS syllabus along with important topics. Below is the list the of subjects along with topics included in the exam:

General Knowledge:

History, Physics, Biology, Geography, Political Science, and current affairs of the last 4-5 months from the examination date.

English:

Basic Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension Solving, Error Spotting, Para Jumbles, etc.

Elementary Math:

Natural numbers, Integers, Percentages, HCF and LCM, Geometry, Logarithms, Trigonometry, Time & distance, Statistics, Mensuration, etc.
